Praveen Medabalmi is a physician executive with more than 15 years of leadership in clinical informatics, healthcare IT strategy, digital transformation, and patient safety across FQHCs, academic medical centers, adult hospitals, and children’s hospitals. He is skilled at bridging clinical practice, digital innovation, and business strategy to drive measurable improvements in quality, operational excellence, and health outcomes.
Praveen advises healthcare organizations and startups on EHR optimization, AI-driven voice scribe, Prior Authorization, and AI agent for lab results tracking, and notifying patients, interoperability, and quality reporting. As an advisor and investor, he supported an early-stage startup that raised $13M, piloted AI tools to reduce administrative burden with strong results, converted pilots into paid contracts within three months, and scaled to more than 100 clinics in two years across primary care, hospitals, dental, and specialty practices.
At a Federally Qualified Health Center, Praveen directed a three-year Epic transition, implemented immunization barcode technology, partnered with clinicians to design efficient clinical templates, and deployed iPads for multilingual intakes and screenings. He has built analytics dashboards for enterprise wide Medication safety, Cardiology procedure planning and follow up, Depression treatment and follow up, pre-visit planning and point-of-care decision support like Cardiovascular risk calculator, UDS clinical outcomes, enhanced care coordination, and advanced interoperability with health information exchanges, immunization registries, hospitals, labs, radiology, pharmacies, and managed care companies. He also strengthened financial sustainability and compliance through 340B program optimization, while helping the FQHC achieve success in quality incentives and PCMH recognition.
Praveen is a recognized expert in clinical data standards and interoperability and has a strong academic foundation in oncology and neuroscience research. He is well known for forging partnerships across clinical, operational, and research domains to align digital health innovation with missions in education, research, and patient-centered care.
